The First True Low-Energy Replacement for Halogen/Metal Halide and Incandescent Lamps

Frankfurt - MEGAMAN® marked a new era for the lighting industry by launching its ground breaking LED Lamp series, which offers a direct one-for-one replacement for halogen, metal halide and incandescent lamps. The MEGAMAN® LEDs have comparable light intensity and colour consistency to their counterparts, but save up to 80% energy and generate much less heat.

(Hong Kong – 12 Apr 2010)  Last year, MEGAMAN^® overwhelmed the industry when it first launched the LED Reflector Series ranging from 7W to 15W that can directly replace halogen lamps in 35W to 100W. Now, the family has expanded to more than 30 models in MR16, PAR16, PAR20, PAR30, PAR38 and AR111 types, fulfilling different lighting requirements for the users.

Powered by MEGAMAN^®'s patented Thermal Conductive Highway^TM (TCH) technology which uses a unique design of a ‘heat drain’ across the reflector to dissipate heat efficiently, the MEGAMAN^® LED lamps are able to deliver superb performance including low power consumption, low heat emission, better light output, long life expectancy (up to 40,000hrs) and low maintenance costs. What's more, the LEDs offer a colour tolerance of just ±100K shift in colour temperature – compared to an average of ±400K for most other LEDs and a colour rendering of up to Ra92, allowing for excellent quality light.

Unlike the traditional LED lamp design, MEGAMAN^® LED Reflectors have employed the concept of reflectors instead of lens or diffusers, making it a true retrofit for halogen applications - not only functionally comparable to halogens but also with a similar outlook.

Available in spot, flood and wide flood beam angles, MEGAMAN^® LED Reflector Series is able to deliver brilliant directional light to accentuate a specific item or area or powerful general lighting with sufficient brightness without glare. While generating low heat, discolouration caused by excessive Ultra-Violet and Infra-Red radiation can be avoided, making it a perfect lighting solution for interiors.

To further reinforce its powerful LEDs, two versions of dimmable LED Reflectors, namely the “Linear dimming” (brightness from 100% to 10%) and “4-Step dimming” range (brightness: 100%, 50%, 20% and 5%) are offered to add flexibilities to lighting designs. The Linear Dimming LEDs provide a smooth dimming experience similar to that obtained from traditional incandescent and halogen lamps connected to an ordinary dimmer switch while the 4-Step Dimming range provides convenient, hassle-free instant dimming using a standard on/off light switch.

Other than halogen replacements, targeting to prevail over the shortcomings of the conventional metal halide lamps for commercial applications, MEGAMAN^® Metal Halide Replacement Series has also been developed to truly replace the conventional ones with significant energy savings, low maintenance, high quality light and safety to use.

Furthermore, MEGAMAN^® has added the LED Candle Series and Classic Series to the LED family, bringing the LED lighting technology into full play. Designed to replace the incandescent candles, this LED Candle can produce a point light source, where the light-emitting position is similar to that of the filament in incandescent candles. This adds a special touch to the chandeliers to create a brilliant sparkling light effect, allowing every crystal to ‘explode’ with energy.
